Manly meal prep! Happy 4th!

First and foremost, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! I was lucky enough to run the Run for Freedom 10k again this year with some friends and started off the day sweaty and smiley amongst many veterans. Thank you all.

Repping OutRun!
Hey Sonia!

Enjoyed some pizza and a nap. And since it's raining again this year, Alex and I decided to hit Market Basket. My husband is training for his first powerlifting competition so I look forward to taking full credit as his personal chef and meal prepper in a few months.

Powerlifting men get to eat a wee bit differently than us gals. Luckily, Alex and I are both carnivores so I enjoyed cooking serious protein today.

Here's part of the haul.
Bacon, ground beef, ground chicken, ground turkey. Fruit. Eggs. Brown rice. Almond milk for smoothies. Some bread.

A friend asked me about meal prep the other day and I get asked this all the time. "Where do I start?" The goal is to MULTITASK. Cook as many things at one time as you can. Utilize the microwave, oven, and burners.

Bacon sizzles away, eggs boil, and meat loaf goes in the oven all at the same time. I want to be wife of the year, so there is bacon and BBQ sauce on that loaf.
Boil in a bag rice is a lifesaver.

Don't forget serving sizes!
Turkey breasts from the big one Alex shot last spring bake away with the meat loaf.
Reminder, Wife of the year. Served with baked Yukon golds done in the microwave.

Tasty ground chix and peppers/onions sizzle away with this mix, little coconut almond milk, and hoisin sauce for lettuce wraps.

And then, all of a sudden...this is just pure beauty to me.

This took me one hour. One little hour. This week we are prepared. Alex has "man food." I have turkey for sandwiches and salads. Eggs to snack on. And bacon for whenever we damn well want it. #merica

Do not stress over meal prep. Clean as you go. Multitask. Keep it simple. And for God's sake, enjoy the process.
