PR'OATS

Protein overnight oats. Life saver.

If you don't eat breakfast but complain of low energy and a hard time losing weight, it's time to start eating your dang breakfast. Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast on a regular basis are less likely to be overweight. What gives you energy and keeps you satisfied? Protein, fiber, and healthy carbs. Not a sugar laden coffee drink. Not everyone has time for a nice farm fresh free range omelet and multigrain toast with avocado and a banana. I ate this while driving my son to daycare and finished it in a parking garage today. #reallife

According to Rush University, when you eat breakfast you're telling your body that there are plenty of calories to be had for the day. When you skip breakfast the message your body gets is that it needs to conserve rather than burn any incoming calories. "Studies have found that although people who skip breakfast eat slightly fewer calories during the day, they tend to have higher body mass index, or BMI," says Christy C. Tangney, PhD, a clinical dietitian at Rush University Medical Center and an expert on the effects of diet and nutrition on heart health.

Some people might be mortified at the high calorie and carb content, but I'm going to hip hop later and I need the cals. #milkmachine. The rest of my day is low carb/grain free.

1 cup rolled oats raw
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbs chia seeds
2 tbs sugar free pancake syrup
1/4 cup blueberries
1 scoop Quest protein Cinnamon Crunch (I love ALL flavors of Quest protein and bars)

Mix and let sit overnight. Enjoy. I eat it cold but you could heat it up as well.
You could half this recipe and it'd still be filling. Switch up flavors. Pinterest is full of overnight oats and chia pudding ideas.
